Black screen and blinking cursor while installing Ubuntu. What to do?

Hello! The essence of the question is this: a DELL 500 laptop, Ubuntu was already installed on it, but when upgrading to version 15.04, at first there were all the rules, but with the last update it went completely stupid, I apologize, installed Win7, and now decided to install Ubuntu again, threw image on a USB flash drive, put everything in the BIOS, but .... the installation did not start .... a black screen on it in the left corner with a blinking cursor .... everything .... CTRL + ALT + F1-F12 does not help, that make??? Sorry if it's messy, I just don't know what to do, I've tried many distributions and nothing ... Could this be a problem with the USB flash drive? How to be? What to do? Maybe someone faced a similar problem? Help me please...

    Try:

    1) format the flash drive using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool

    2) Burn an image using Rufus ( rufus.akeo.ie )

Set the formatting options as in the picture.

It helped me when installing ubuntu on Lenovo B560.

The flash drive does not boot.

It is best to throw images through dd

Alternatively, you can try to plug it into another usb port. It helped more than once. Recently I installed Mint on my Macbook and refused to install via a USB repeater in the keyboard, although the kernel was partially loaded

The USB flash drive with ubuntu is crookedly recorded from under Windows, I myself faced such a problem when writing through Unetbootin, image2disk and others like them.

I solved the problem with writing ubuntu to a USB flash drive via a computer with another ubuntu (hello dd), from Windows I had to use a special program (unfortunately I don't remember the name) to delete all partitions on the USB flash drive, format and only then upload the ubuntu image
